Flower City Spring Sculling

Flower City Rowing is a team that proves that rowing is still an option beyond the college years. FCR provides community, racing opportunities and a means to stay in peak physical shape for those with considerable rowing experience who can meet certain fitness and technical standards. The program involves a training schedule with team training many days per week focused on preparing for summer racing. This program is for scullers: anyone with the desire to set and pursue rowing goals, commit to the challenge of training, make sacrifices within reason, and allow themselves to push their bodies and spirits beyond their natural inclinations, with guidance, support and fun. If you’re new to rowing this is for you. You will learn the fundamentals of rowing in this program. You will walk away knowing how to safely handle boat equipment, execute the rowing stroke, a variety of technical drills and will become familiar with rowing terminology. A low student to instructor ratio and small class size ensures you will get a solid grasp of rowing fundamentals. Once complete you will be ready to row with our Intermediate Team.
