Masters rowing is a year-round program with emphasis on racing, designed for rowers with previous experience in sweep or sculling who want to take their rowing skills to the next level. The goal of this program is to be competitive with other masters racing programs throughout the US, in all age groups for men and women. Rowers will train to compete as a team at specific national and international Championship level regattas. Racing at local and regional regattas will be used to prepare for the Championship races. Rec Rowing is perfect for a variety of rowers with different rowing backgrounds. It is for Learn-To-Row graduates who wish to continue at a recreational level as well as experienced rowers who don’t have the time needed to commit to the rigors of the Master’s Racing program. Coaches from the DBC crew lead the practices and offer suggestions to help develop and improve your rowing technique. Opportunities to race at local regattas will be available if there is enough interest from the group. Practices will be on-the-water weather permitting, or in our historic boathouse on the latest rowing machines if not.
FODR Annual Fee ($100) registration required under Membership tab. No class on 7/5 (July 4th holiday observed). No refunds given after first week of class.

LTR is our introductory rowing class for adults of all ages with no previous rowing experience. It focuses on technique rather than athletic ability, and covers the basics of team rowing, equipment, water and land safety, proper rowing technique and terminology, and building strong crews through teamwork. Practices start with land training on rowing machines in our historic boathouse to develop proper technique and body mechanics, and on the water rowing using a training barge or in an 8 person rowing shell. Rowing's smooth, rhythmic motions offer non-impact aerobic and muscular conditioning, with improved balance and flexibility. Great for those from 18 to 98! FODR Annual Fee ($100) registration required under Membership tab. No refunds after first week.
