The Thunder Bay Rowing Club is pleased to host the Canada Day Sprints on Saturday, June 23, 2018. The regatta is sanctioned by Rowing Canada Aviron which this year requires clubs to use RegattaCentral for regatta registration and results. We hope you'll find this process helpful and join us for another exciting regatta!
The Thunder Bay Rowing Club is located at 755 Dock Street just upstream of the Kaministiquia River Heritage Park. The Canada Day Sprints Regatta features a 1000 metre straight course on the Kaministiquia River with a floating start. Buoys will mark the outer and inner limits of the course but individual lanes are not marked.
Thunder Bay Rowing Club was founded in 1904 as the Fort William Rowing Club. The Boathouse is located on the Kaministiquia River in Thunder Bay south downtown core.
Since 1906 the Thunder Bay Rowing Club has been a member of the NorthWest International Rowing Association which includes rowing clubs from northern central USA and central Canada.
The CPR Underpass has insufficient clearance for most trailers. All boat trailers should access the regatta site via Duncan Street, which crosses over the 5 sets of railroad tracks.
