Vikes Men's and Women's Rowing programs are proud to host these events in the incredible backdrop of the Victoria, BC innner harbours!
The Head of the Gorge starts just shy of the Johnson Street Bridge and runs under three bridges to the finish line in front of Esquimalt Park.
The Tail of the Gorge starts in beautiful Portage Inlet, runs under the proud new arches of the Craigflower Bridge, and finishes at the Esquimalt Gorge Park.
Student athlete, family and community volunters are the bedrock of our events and we look forward to seeing anyone who would like to support us sign up at the following link: Volunteer Site
Rowers in the Pacific Northwest use the Vikes Fall Classic Regattas to mark the transition from fall to winter training by rewarding themselves with incredible racing during the day and enjoying the hospitality of Victoria in the evenings.
Head of the Gorge encourages and awards a prize for best costume and that gives the entire event a festival atmosphere.
Feel free to tweet @vikesrow or post to our instagram @uvicvikes to be considered for the competition.
