Race: 2000m collegiate race + 1000m adaptive race

REGATTA INFORMATION 

Entry Deadline: Received by 2300 (11:00 PM), SUNDAY, March 9, 2014. 

1. Entries 

a. You must register using Regatta Central; www.regattacentral.com 

b. Entry Deadline: Boatings Due By Sunday, March 9, 2014. 

c. Payments should be made by check only and should be postmarked by Friday, March 7th, 2014 at the latest. Checks can be made out to the Alabama Crew Club. The Alabama Crew Mailing address is:

d. Late entries/Event Changes will be accepted until Wednesday March 12, 2014 

2. Regatta Meeting 

a. 7:15AM on Saturday March 15th on the Steel Pier located at the Alabama Boathouse. 

3. Check In 

a. All Crews must check in to receive their bow numbers. 

b. Check in will be open Friday from 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm at the Alabama Men’s Boathouse and Saturday from 06:15 am to 10:00 am at the Finish Line Tent on the Steel Pier. 

c. ALL CREWS MUST CHECK IN BY 10:00 AM ON SATURDAY OR YOU WILL BE SCRATCHED. 

4. Weigh-ins – NOT APPLICABLE 

5. Traffic Pattern 

a. The Row Tide Regatta traffic pattern will be available on-line and at check in. 

b. Please make sure all crews/scullers follow the posted traffic pattern. 

6. Race Information 

a. Please allow adequate time to get to the starting line, about 30 minutes. (Novices 1 hour) 

b. Crews that miss the start of their event may, at the starter’s discretion, be allowed to row for time only. 

c. All race traffic must row through the finish line. Do not stop until your boat is well clear of all other race traffic coming through the finish area. Crews shall turn around 100 meters beyond the finish at the red buoy. Stay clear of the second bridge! There is a 100 meter safety zone mandated in front of the second bridge. 

7. Bow Markers 

a. Alabama Crew will provide you with your bow number. It is your responsibility to return your bow card at the conclusion of your event. 

Crews without bow markers may not have their times recorded. Lost bow cards will be charged to your team. 

8. Race schedule 

a. A preliminary start order will be posted on Regatta Central the WEDNESDAY prior to the event. 

9. Practice 

a. Crews may practice on the racecourse the Friday prior to racing from 12:00 PM to 6:30 PM. ALL 

CREWS MUST BE OFF THE WATER BEFORE DARK (sunset is at 6:55pm). Please make sure you have checked the posted traffic pattern prior to practicing. 

10. Directions 

Take exit 71B off of I-20/I-59, onto I-359 N. Continue going straight on this road over the bridge, and take the first exit off of the bridge. Take a right onto 5th St, and another right onto Bridge Ave, and then a left onto 3rd St. Continue onto the end of this road, and the Alabama Crew Boathouse is through the gate. 

The gate to the Alabama Crew Boathouse will be unlocked and team members will be present starting at 12pm on Friday, March 14th to coordinate teams arriving to drop off trailers and unload. 

11. Parking: 

There will be two volunteers on site to coordinate parking. Trailers may pull into the boathouse to unload boats, but trailer parking will be across the street from the school, on 12th, 13th, and 14th Ave. These side roads form a large circle and should give trailers plenty of room to maneuver. Vans and cars may start parking in the circle directly in front of the gate, and file back down the road, being sure to only park on one side of the road to allow room for trailers. 

12. T-Shirts: 

This is a t-shirt regatta, so for each race the winning boat will receive a t-shirt from each of the other competitors. In addition to this, we will have 2014 Row Tide Regatta t-shirts available for purchase from the boathouse.
