Megunticook Mini-Marathon and Regatta

Rowing Invitation - Maine Rowing Association (MRA) and Megunticook Rowing invites single and double scullers who are or become MRA and US Rowing members to participate in the 26th Annual, 2019 Megunticook Mini-Marathon and Regatta in Camden, Maine on Sunday, September 8, 2019.  Row either the 10-mile Mini-Marathon ("Not Just a Race, An Adventure") or the 3-mile course (the original, way back when...).

Club & US Rowing Memberships - All athletes must be members of both Maine Rowing Association and US Rowing.  You must become a member of both Maine Rowing Association and US Rowing on or before Sunday, September 1, 2019. 

2019 MRA Membership

Registration - After you have become a member of both Maine Rowing Association and US Rowing, go to the Registration Form section in the navigation bar or click HERE for Registration.  You must register for the Megunticook Mini-Marathon and Regatta and pay for it on or before Sunday, September 1, 2019.  The only club affiliation you will be able to list on your Registration Form will be "Maine Rowing Association."  

Event Waiver Required - After you have registered, go to the Waiver section in the navigation bar or click HERE for Waiver.  You must agree to the event waiver on or before Sunday, September 1, 2019.  You will only be able to access the MRA 2019 Event Waivers by entering "Maine Rowing Association" as your club affiliation.

Classes - Open to males and females; all ages; masters, open and junior.  Classes will be determined based on demographics of entrants and, therefore, some events may be combined.  USRA protocol with MRA handicap.

Boats - Racing shells, recreational shells, and alden ocean shells; singles and doubles. 

Event Day Schedule

7:00 am      Registration and Bow Number assignment
7:45            Competitor’s meeting, including important course description. 

                   Start-Finish line adjacent to Rte 52 Fisherman's launch/landing ramp.
8:30            Start, first group of 10-mile racers. Other groups to follow, 1 minute apart
8:40            Start, first group of 3-mile racers. Other groups to follow, 1 minute apart
9:30-ish      Blueberry Pancake Breakfast  -  followed by awards

Rules - Overtaking boat has right of way.  If you’re being overtaken, move to the outside. At all times, please observe good sportsmanship and common sense safety principles.

Equipment - Bow balls and bow clips are required.  Heel tie-downs or other quick release foot gear is strongly recommended.

Blueberry Pancake Breakfast and Prizes - We will meet Barrett's Cove Public Beach after the event for the pancake breakfast (we’ll provide the food) and to announce winners and award medals.  Entry fee includes rowerd breakfast.  Additional breakfast guest suggested $10 donation.
