Head of the Madawaska Regatta 2024

The Burnstown Rowing Club is hosting its 21st Annual Invitational Head of the Madawaska Regatta on September 8, 2024. The Boathouse address is 1538 Highway 508, (Calabogie Road at Burnstown Beach).

The format remains the same as previous years and each race is open to small boats as well as fours and eights. Registration is through REGATTA CENTRAL and is open until the day of the regatta. Seat fees are $6.66/race ($4.00 RCA + $2.66 ORA) and can be paid at the time of registration through Regatta Central. There is a Regatta registration fee of $30 which is payable as you pick up your bow marker.

The $30 gives you a day at the Beach (bring your {grand} children), good company, a terrific rowing venue and a buffet of coffee and nourishment for as long as supplies last.

Water is provided for refills.

There are no late entry fees but for a same day registration the seat fee will be $7.00/ race. This is payable as you pick up your bow marker.

Rowers MUST be registered with RCA or an equivalent organization to participate in this regatta.

Coaches and rower meeting is at 8:00 in front of the ‘Lee Narraway’ Boat House

Head up to start at 8:30

First race- 3 km- 9:00 start

Second race- 4.5 km- 10:30 start

Lunch break BBQ at the parking area of Boathouse

Third race- 3 km- 1:30 start

This is an RCA sanctioned event. All events are open weight ie no weigh in, and there are no disqualifications or time penalties BUT there is NO PASSING on the approach to the OLDE bridge pylons.
