Rowing Invitation - Maine Rowing Association (MRA) invites single and double scullers who are or become MRA and US Rowing members to participate in the Twenty-Fourth Annual Kennebec Row 5K in Skowhegan, Maine on Sunday, July 28, 2019.  

Club & US Rowing Memberships - All athletes must be members of both Maine Rowing Association and US Rowing.  You must become a member of both Maine Rowing Association and US Rowing on or before Sunday, July 21, 2019. 

2019 MRA Membership

Registration - After you have become a member of both Maine Rowing Association and US Rowing, go to the Registration Form section in the navigation bar or click HERE.  You must register for the Kennebec Row 5K and pay for it on or before Sunday, July 21, 2019.  The only club affiliation you will be able to list on your Registration Form will be "Maine Rowing Association."

Event Waiver Required - After you have registered, go to the Waiver section in the navigation bar or click HERE.  You must agree to the event waiver on or before Sunday, July 21, 2019.  You will only be able to access the MRA 2019 Event Waivers by entering "Maine Rowing Association" as your club affiliation.

Classes - Open to males and females; all ages; masters, open and junior.  Classes will be determined based on demographics of entrants.  USRA protocol with MRA handicap.

Boats - Racing shells, recreational shells, and alden ocean shells; singles and doubles.

Check in and Start - On event day, please plan to check in and pick up your bow number between 9:00 and 9:30 am.  Launching and landing discouraged from 10:15 a.m. until everyone has started.  First start at 10:30 am.  Start-Finish line adjacent to launch/landing.  Boats will be started every 15-30 seconds.

Rules - Overtaking boat has right of way.  If you’re being overtaken, move to the outside. At all times, please observe good sportsmanship and common sense safety principles.

Equipment - Bow balls and bow clips are required.  Heel tie-downs or other quick release foot gear is strongly recommended.

Picnic and Prizes - We will meet adjacent to the boat launch after the event to eat (we’ll provide the food) and to announce winners and award medals.  Entry fee includes picnic for two (2).  The charge for each additional picnic guest is $15 per person.
