Speakmon Memorial Regatta

  • Hosted By: Greater Columbus Rowing Association
  • 2016 Registered Regatta

The Greater Columbus Rowing Association is proud to host the thirty second annual Jack Speakmon Memorial Regatta in Columbus on Saturday, October 10, 2015. This regatta features some of the fastest crews in the rowing community, from High School, Collegiate, Masters and Adaptive classes, competing on the waters of the Scioto River at Griggs Reservoir.

Established in 1984, The Jack Speakmon Memorial Regatta has become one of the most popular and challenging fall rowing events in the Midwest.  Possessing a sincere interest in water activity, Jack served as one of the City’s liaisons with the Columbus Waterways Safety Committee, resulting in safer boating practices and a wider range of allowed activities.

The course curves along the natural riverscape of the Scioto River is set against a multi-paletted backdrop of peak fall foliage.  With walking paths along the river's edge for multiple observation opportunities, the Speakmon is both a participant and spectator's delight.

Regatta details are contained in the Regatta Packet for your reference.
