THANK YOU for celebrating 50 years of the Head of the Schuylkill Regatta

The 2020 Head of the Schuylkill Regatta is “virtually yours” (or anybody’s for that matter!) as you can compete from wherever you are, on your favorite rowing machine or body of water. Join us in celebrating our 50th anniversary by connecting with community and moving the words “we are all in this together” into action.

There will be separate events for the self-submittal of times on erg and water during October 18th-25th, and live racing on October 24th.  

PARTICIPATORY ERG (Asynchronous)

Race 4150 meters from your favorite place, any time during event week October 18th – 25th (DEADLINE EXTENDED). Competitors may row their piece on any rowing machine that counts distance and submit their time.  Individual and team events will be offered.  Note: Paddle erg events will be 2050 meters.   Click here for directions regarding self-submittal of results.

PARTICIPATORY WATER (Asynchronous)

Race 4150 meters from your favorite body of water, any time during event week October 18th- October 25th. Competitors may use an NK SpeedCoach GPS or any device that records their meters and time to submit during the event week.   How to Register and Submit Results with a Speed Coach Model 2 with Training Pack

LIVE ERG (Synchronous)

Go head-to-head with rowers for 4150! The HOSR is partnering with HereNow to bring you LIVE racing. The event will be held on Saturday October 24th. You will experience a virtual race through a 3D rendering of the Schuylkill River. Competitors will start in a head race fashion chasing the boats ahead of them down the course. Competitors will connect their phone with a Concept2 Erg (with PM5 monitor) or an RP3 to race live against rowers from around the country and world. 

Registration

Registration for all events will open on September 26th.

Registration deadline for the live events: October 14th at 11:59pm. Late registration closes October 19th at 11:59pm. 

Registration and results submission deadline for participatory rowing machine and water events: October 25th (DEADLINE EXTENDED).

Summary of Events

Veterans singles, Masters team events, Parent/Child, Alumni, and Corporate events are time-adjusted in the HOSR. 

All proceeds from registration fees will be dedicated to Philadelphia City Rowing and HOSR Love Where You Row initiatives.  You can read more about the fund here.
