Beak of the Chick - 3,217 Meter Regatta

Welcome to the second Beak of the Chick Regatta, hosted by Williamsburg Boat Club. We wanted to create a fun regatta that is an unusual distance (not your 1000th 2k or 5k regatta) and use it to foster a greater sense of cohesion within our rowing community. The course begins at our bridge, runs 1500 meters north on the Chickahominy River, cuts across the river, and comes back down finishing at the bridge. Racing is in time trial format. All ages of rower and classifications of boat are welcome.

This year we will host the "Beak, Beer & BBQ Festival" with local craft beer and bbq food truck vendors. There is also great camping on site.

We are also proud to start the regatta with our signature charity event, "Mark's and Finley's Bridge Chase." This event is for all categories and classifications of boats, and all proceeds are donated to CHKD for pediatric medical research and services.

The regatta schedule is fluid at this point. If there are events you'd like added, please let us know.  We will solidify the event list and race order in mid-July. If you have a hull, hot seat, or double rowing conflict with the current schedule, please let us know, we'll adjust. Please come join us for what will be a great rowing experience.
