The City of Welland announced on Thursday April 2nd that they have extended the closure of all public facilities and the cancellation of any public events until June 30th.
Unfortunately, we must cancel the Tony Biernacki Sr. Memorial Regatta, which was scheduled to take place on June 20th . Over the last 11 years, the ‘Tony B’ has become a staple of the early Summer racing calendar for Masters rowers in Ontario. Earlier in March, Row Ontario announced it was taking over hosting duties of the regatta from Brock University Rowing, who had hosted the annual event since its inception. Row Ontario hopes to host the event for the first time in 2021.
