This year, because of conflicts with the UT football schedule, the Head of the Tennessee regatta will be held at Melton Hill Lake in Oak Ridge. As always, the regatta will be hosted by the Knoxville Rowing Association. Through the generous cooperation of the Oak Ridge Rowing Association, the venue will be at their headquarters. The race course on Melton Hill Lake will be a new one. (See map at

The course is slightly less than 5000 meters. While the course runs "upstream," the lake, which is flow-controlled, has very little current.
