Hot Head Regatta

The Hot Head Regatta, held on Tempe Town Lake in Tempe, AZ, is a three mile head race around a beautiful man-made lake in the middle of the desert. The lake hosts an active rowing community made up of the following clubs/programs: Tempe Town Lake Rowing Masters and Juniors, Rio Salado Rowing Club Masters, Tempe Junior Crew, Xavier College Prep Crew, Brophy Prep Crew and ASU Men's and Women's Club Crew. The success of all these programs proves that rowing can have an active life in the desert.

The Hot Head races through 5 bridges, with a 180 degree turn at the half-way point, providing  a great cahllenge to rowers and cox'ns alike. It is a US Rowing registered regatta and has a full compliment of officials with and uses an automated timing system. Results are posted before most teams get back to the dock.

Thje regatta hotel sponsor, The Country Inn and Suites,is providing rooms for $99/night, which includes breakfast. The hotel is only a 10 minute walk to the marina and regatta headquarters.
