Directions & Parking

I-35 to Austin, exit 1st Street (downtown).

Go West on 1st Street to Trinity.

Turn left on Trinity, and drive one block to dead end cul-de-sac at Lady Bird Lake.

The ARC is a short walk down the path to the lake. 

There is NO PARKING at the boathouse. For parking information see below.

Parking Options:

Metered Parking Along Downtown Streets:

Depending on the time of day, metered parking may be available on the streets near ARC. Metered parking is free on weekdays before 8:30 AM and after 5:30 PM and all day on Saturdays and Sundays The best metered parking for access to ARC is along the East-West streets of Cesar Chavez, 2nd, and 3rd, or along the North-South streets of Trinity, Brazos, and San Jacinto.

City Hall/AMLI:

Paid parking is available at City Hall or at AMLI on 2nd (entrance on San Antonio) You can then walk to the Hike and Bike Trail an on to ARC. City Hall Parking is free on Saturdays before 5:00PM.

Weekends Only: TexDOT:

The TexDOT lost across the lake from ARC, just east of the American-Statesman, are about a 10 or 12 minute walk. Don't park near the TexDOT white cans (they  need to get out for emergency purposes), but there is lots of parking in all the lots next to the lot with the white TexDOT vans. You can walk through the American-Statesman parking areas to get to the Hike and Bike Trail and over the Congress Avenue bridge. WEEKENDS ONLY!!!

Members Only: Mexican American Cultural Center:

ARC Membors with parking stickers on their cars can park at the MACC located at 600 River Street. Walk along the Hike and Bike Trail to ARC. Please note that this lot is sometimes unavailable due to special events. MEMBERS ONLY!!!

No Unauthorized Parking at the Boathouse:

Parking is not available at the Austin Rowing Club facilities, per agreement with the City of Austin. If you need to bring a vehicle to the facilities, you must get permission from the ARC Executive Committee or the Executive Director.
