1) Dates and Deadlines:
Entries Close - Friday, October 2
Late Entries Close - Wednesday, October 7 - Late entries will not be accepted in Events that have no entries when the normal entry deadline closes on October 2.
Scratch Deadline - Friday, October 2 (No refunds after this date)

2) Check In: Every Club and individual racer is required to check in on Friday, Oct. 9, 4:00 - 7:00pm or Saturday, October 10, 6:00am - 7:00am, to pick up bow markers and to have fee's and waivers checked.

3) Waivers: Everyone is required to sign a City of Tempe Waiver (attached) before arriving at registration.

4) Cox'ns/Coaches Meeting: 6am at the SRP Marina. Handouts of the course map will be available and will be reviewed at the meeting. It is important that a team representative from every program racing be present.

5) Passing: A crew that is being overtaken by another crew must move to the right (starboard) ? passing another crew is to the left (port).

6) No Passing Zone: There is a No Passing Zone which starts 25 meters before bridges in both directions. No crews/scullers are allowed to pass while in the NO Passing Zone. Once you are clear of the bridge there are no restrictions.

7) East End Turn: Crews cutting inside the buoys may gain an advantage and may create an unsafe condition.

  • A crew rowing to the left (port) of a buoy will be penalized 30 seconds for each buoy missed.
  • Rowing inside 4 or more of the buoys will result in disqualification of the crew.              

8) Traffic Pattern: Any crew rowing against the flow of the official traffic pattern will be disqualified.

9) Novice Category: Novice rowers cannot have participated in any type of rowing or sculling before June 1, 2009. Experience as a coxswain does not count as time rowing/sculling.

10) Masters Category: US Rowing's Masters Age Categories will be followed and handicap will be based on boat age average excluding the coxswain. All participants in a Masters boat must be at least 21 years of age.

11) Medals: will be awarded to all first place finishers. Ribbons will be awarded to second and third place finishers.
