FINALIZED  PARKING  &  DRIVING  INSTRUCTIONS

 Sheriff's Deputies will be on hand to assist.

There are two entrances to the Park:  North  and  South.

 

SOUTH  PARKING  LOT:

Boat Trailers,          Team Food - Tent Trailers,             Car Top Shells,

Vehicles  displaying  valid  Handicapped  Parking  tags.

From  I-75  take  Fruitville Rd,  Exit 210.    Drive  WEST  on  Fruitville Rd.  approx. 1.2  mi.

Turn  NORTH  (right)  on  No. Honore Ave  (traffic light).    Drive approx  1.4  mi.

Turn  RIGHT  at entrance to  Park.    Follow road to Parking Staff.

(Note: if using GPS, please set your destination to:  2300 No. Honore Ave,  34235.)

 

NORTH  PARKING  LOTS:

Referees,      Spectators,     All Others.

From  I-75  take  University Pkway,  Exit 213.

Drive  WEST  on  University Pkway  approx.  0.3  mi.

Turn  SOUTH  (left)  on  No. Cattlemen Rd  (traffic light).

Drive approx  0.5  mi,  following signs  and  pass thru  3  traffic circles.

As you approach  2nd traffic circle,  watch for signs.    Follow Parking Staff instructions.

 

PARKING  FEE:   $ 5  per vehicle   --   for a good cause

Parking will be handled by the  Friends of Sarasota County Parks,  a  non-profit  group dedicated to improving our local parks system via volunteerism.  They will be receiving 100% of the proceeds which are then directly reinvested in the local park system.  We applaud their efforts and your support, and additional donations will gladly be accepted.

 

TEAM  BUS  PARKING:

Buses will drop off their rowers & coaches at the Trolley drop off point, near the footbridge at the north end of the lake.  They will loop around and exit towards the Remote Parking Lot and be directed to designated areas adjacent to the traffic circle nearest the Remote Parking Lot.  (This is the same as Apr 09.)

 

IF  YOU  ARE  A  SPECTATOR:

Go directly to the  North Remote Parking Lot  (see directions above)  only via University Blvd.

 

IF  YOU  ARE  A  HANDICAPPED  SPECTATOR:

Follow directions above to the  South Parking Lot  (see directions above). You must display a valid Handicap Parking sticker/permit/hangtag.

If you will need assistance after you park, please advise the Parking Team Volunteer in the South Parking Lot.

 

IF  YOU  ARE  CARRYING  SHELLS  ON  TOP  OF  YOUR  CAR:

The  Boat Trailer Area  will be available starting at  12p  on Friday.

Please call Mike when you are approx 15 minutes away to alert him of your arrival.

We would prefer all Friday drop offs to be done before dark.   You may drop your shell in the trailer area on slings if you so desire.    If you are coming on Friday and cannot arrive before dark, please let us know in advance. 

There will be overnight security.

However, secure your own area, cover with a tarp, and do not leave valuables accessible.

For those bringing shells via car top, you will need to keep your vehicle in the boat trailer until the end of the regatta unless other arrangements are made in advance.  Please speak to  Mike Day,  Richard Hays,  Norm Thetford,  or  Jeff Koehler  in advance.

 

IF  YOU  ARE  DRIVING  A       BOAT  TRAILER,       TEAM  FOOD  OR  TENT  TRAILER,      OR       VENDOR  TRAILER:

The   Boat Trailer Area,  Team Tent Area,  and  Vendor Village   will be available starting at  12p  on Friday.

If you drop your Trailer off on Friday, once you drop your trailer you will be required to move your vehicle to the Volunteer Lot on the north end for parking.  For Sat morning, please drive directly to the Volunteer Lot on the north end of the lake where you can park for free.  Directions are below.

For those bringing trailers on Sat morning, you will drop your trailer on site and then need to exit the parking lot, turn north on Honore Ave, drive north to DeSoto Rd, turn right on DeSoto Rd, travel east to the traffic circle, and follow instructions to the Volunteer Lot.  Please plan extra time to allow for this.

 

DIRECTIONS  TO  THE  VOLUNTEER  LOT:

FROM  THE SOUTH  PARKING  LOT:

Exit the south parking lot,  turn  North  on  Honore Ave,  drive North  to  DeSoto Rd,  turn  Right  on DeSoto Rd,  travel  East  to the  traffic circle,  go  1/2  way around circle,  exit on the  East  side.    Drive towards the  Fire Station,  make a  Right  in front of the  Station.  Follow gravel road  South towards lake.  Go past the turnaround loop and parking is on the left down the road.  Please follow any instructions from Parkings Team.

FROM  ANYWHERE  ELSE:

From  I-75  take  University Pkway,  Exit 213.    Drive  WEST  on  University Pkway  approx.  0.3  mi.    Turn  SOUTH  (left)  on  No. Cattlemen Rd  (traffic light).    Drive approx  0.5  mi,  following signs  and  negotiate  3  traffic circles.  Drive  3/4ths  way thru 3rd traffic circle,  exit on the  East  side.    Drive towards the  Fire Station,  make a  Right  in front of the  Station.  Follow gravel road  South towards lake.  Go past the turnaround loop and parking is on the left down the road.  Please follow any instructions from Parkings Team.
