Rocky Top Head Race

 Some things to note: 

Novice Master's Events - These events are similar to the novice class well known in Junior and Collegiate rowing.  The fours events are open to coxswains of any level but the rowers must all be of master's age (21+) and may not have competed in more than two regatta seasons or more than three races. Same rules apply to Novice singles unless the competator is raceing in a recreational hull(<24 ft.); in this case experience is not a factor in classafication. 

Half Marathon- This year's half marathon will feature trophy awards, safety and support boats on the course, along with a brunch social to follow.  Orange jucie and pastry's provided; bring your own champaine. 

Masters Age Categories.  Masters Ages: 21‑ 42. Grand Masters : Ages: 43 - 59. Veterans Ages 60+.  Age is determined by age as of December 31, 2010.

Masters Age Handicaps. There will be no handicaps at the Rocky Top Head Race in the 1x events only or any event in the Half Marathon.  Racers in each age catagory will be racieng strait-up.  Any catagory that has more than 5 entries will be split into a sub catagory (by age) for awards.

All Saturday events (Rocky Top Head Race) other than the singles will race with normal USRowing age handycap rules. 

Novice. Individuals who have not competed at the collegiate level prior to 6/1/10. Novice events are intended for first year collegiate rowers.

Women's Division. Female rowers and scullers only.

Men's Division. Male rowers and scullers only.

Coxswains. May be of either sex for any event. No weight restrictions apply.

Protests. Protests must be presented in writing to the regatta director within one hour of the completion of the event along with a $20 fee. The protest fee will be refunded if the protest is upheld.

Entry Fees 8+:  $70.00      4+,4x:  $50.00     2X,2-:  $30.00     1X:  $20.00

Team Cap= $750

Refunds. Fees for events canceled due to acts of God, no shows, or last minute scratches  are not refundable.

There are no limits to the number of races an athlete may enter.  But please ensure athletes and equipment have enough dock and row-up time.
