9/23/200:

September 23, 2010King's Head ParticipantsWe had a very unfortunate accident occur to one of our neighbors from Upper Merion High School crew team class of 2009 and current Duquesne University rower.  Christina was hit by a car when out fora morning jog while studying in Rome last week.  Christina suffered severe injuries and she remains hospitalized.

Her family flew to Rome at great expense last week to be at Christina's side and to date her condition is still very serious. The travel, lodging and medical expenses are a concern for the Upper Merion High School rowing community so they are beginning various fund raising activities.

As you enter the regatta parking grounds, the Upper Merion High School Crew Boosters will have a bucket available for any donation you may wish to make to help the family.  All donations will be greatly appreciated.  You may also see members of the Upper Merion HS Booster Group and High School Rowers stationed around the grounds with signs as a reminder for people to keep Christina and her family in your prayers.  We are sending this out in advance so competitors and spectators can be aware of the fund raising activity before they arrive at the regatta in order to keep traffic flowing.  Please share this with parents and other spectators that may be attending.

Thank you for your consideration.
