Pittsford Crew hosts 2 regattas each year, the Pull the Plug Regatta in the fall and the Pittsford Regatta in June . The Pull the Plug is so named because after the regatta the Erie Canal is closed to traffic and the NYS Canal Corporation "pulls the plug" and drains the canal for the winter.
2010 marks the 14th year we have hosted this event. In the past we have enjoyed having crews from the area as well as Ohio, Canada, Pennsylvania and Massachusetts, eastern New York and Connecticut.
Pittsford Crew is a youth rowing organization dedicated to high school rowers in the Rochester Area and home to the Pittsford Indoor Rowing center (www.pittsfordindoorrowingcenter.org). Along with four other high school rowing programs in the area, Fairport Crew, Brighton Crew, Mercy High School and McQuaid High School, Pittsford Crew is a part of an active rowing community.
