Wine Country Rowing Classic

  • Hosted By: North Bay Rowing Club, Sonoma State Rowing Club
  • 2016 Registered Regatta
North Bay Rowing Club has been hosting the Wine Country Rowing Classic since 2005, watching it grow from a casual, rather local event followed by a barbecue to a US Rowing Association regatta attended by 500-600 athletes. Held on the tidal slough known as the Petaluma River, which has a few S-turns and some great straightaways, Wine Country Rowing Classic boasts a beautiful natural location, great viewing opportunities from the 650-acre Shollenberger Park, and the civilized launching and loading situation of the Petaluma Marina. WCRC is becoming known for not only its course but also its paella and handmade jewelry made out of vintage rowing medals and antique beads. In 2009, WCRC introduced a team trophy.
