History

The Eastern Rowing Association (ERA) was created one hundred years ago with the desire to gather a maximum of rowing clubs in the provinces of Eastern Canada, racing around excellence. Soon, it was decided to organize a race for high schools, a preliminary regatta and a championship. In May 1978 the first regatta was held in Kingston. The Rowing Club of Laval, the Rowing Club of Ottawa then organized ERA regattas. Since 2008, the High School regatta and the Championships is held by the Montreal Rowing Club, at the Olympic Basin.
