We've been called the "friendliest little regatta in New England", "a great warm-up event to the Fall season", or a "perfect first race for a novice."  No matter how you slice it, the Pioneer Valley Riverfront Club members enjoy hosting rowers from all around the Northeast to join in the "competitive" festival on the river.

While the regatta began as a "scullers' only" paradise, we've added some sweep boats as our youth and adult programs have grown.  At this time, we can only launch boats as large as fours and quads.  We don't believe we will be sufficiently moved into our new site in time to accommodate eights.  The bright side is this should keep us anticipating growth for another year or so.  Feel free to break larger teams into fours for some "timed" competition (aka. seat racing) as an early season test of "grace in race" situations.

With the growth PVRC has experienced, a whole new contingent of race officials have passed the Springfield Certification of Regatta and Management (SCRAM).  We look forward to seeing you at this year's race where you can meet these officials who's reputation has somehow surpassed their actual stature in the sport!
