SXSW always makes finding hotels difficult, but here are a few suggestions of close hotels/motels:
4Seasons is the hotel directly behind the boathouse.
Holiday Inn is on the Lake further east (closer to the venue).
And there are a whole line of hotel/motels just south of the river near SI35 & Oltorf Drive - Clarion, Lotus Hotel, La Quinta, Suburban, Park West Inn, Motel 6, Excel Inn, Best Value
