OARS Youth Invitational

Dear Coaches, 

 
Our parents, coaches and volunteers are busy getting ready for you to join us at the 2014 OARS Invitational on Saturday. We have a full day of racing and it looks like the weather will be perfect.
 
Here are a few pieces of important information for you & your team:
 
  • Attached is the current version of the schedule.  Please review it & make sure all your boats are entered correctly.  We've checked and double checked, but with 337 boats, we may have missed something, please let us know if we did! (Especially those of you with similar names) 
  • On the schedule, you will notice some exhibition boats.  These teams have requested special entries in order to get all of their kids in a race.  The exhibition boats can not earn medals or points based on their finish times.
  • If you have any scratches, please take care of this on regatta central or by e-mailing me by 7 pm TONIGHT. After Wednesday, the $25 scratch fee applies.
  • After we receive all the scratches, we should be able to have a final schedule by Thursday night/Friday morning.
  • Weigh-ins for lightweight events will take place between 6:45 - 9:30 am.  There is only one opportunity to weigh-in per boat.  Boys - 150 pounds, Girls - 130 pounds
  • Attached are the instructions for bus drivers.  Please share with the appropriate people on your team.
  • For those teams planning to drop trailers at the park on Friday, the entrance to Bill Frederick Park at Turkey Lake will close at 5:00 pm on Friday.  Please email Jeff Woy at [email protected] if you are planning to deliver your trailer after 5:00 pm on Friday and let me know your anticipated arrival time.  If you are unexpectedly delayed beyond 5:00 pm, please contact Jeff at 407-467-3226.
 
Middle School Races - 
  • To aid in moving the MS races along quickly, we will have a separate C&C meeting for middle school rowers and coaches at 9:30 am.
  • MS races have been limited to 4 boat races.  This will help the officials align and start the races quickly.
