2015 SARASOTA INVITATIONAL

Parking

There will be limited parking on the island.  Cost is $5.00 per day for all vehicles, except vehicles hauling boat trailers and car topped boats which will receive a parking pass, unless otherwise noted.  There will also be one additional Coach's Parking Pass per team.  Parking passes will be distributed upon the teams arrival.

 

Admission

UPDATED  PARKING  &  DRIVING  INSTRUCTIONS

 Sheriff's Deputies will be on hand to assist.

There are two entrances to the Park:  North  and  South via North Cattleman Road, but the locus of operations will be on the island, which is accessible from North Cattleman Road at the north end of the lake via two bridges.  All boat trailers, vendor trailers, team trailers, buses, and handicap parking, will be located on the island if possible.

FOR  FOLLOWING  THESE  INSTRUCTIONS

PARKING  FEE:   $ 5  per vehicle/day:  Saturday & Sunday
There is no charge for   Boat Trailers,   Team Tent Haulers,   Team Buses,   or   Vendor Trailers,
but a   Parking Pass  is required.    These will be supplied on site by the Arrivals Team
.

TEAM  BUS  PARKING:
>    Follow directions below to  SOUTH entrance.   (See bottom of page.)
>    Team Buses are defined as  School buses,  Motorcoaches,  or  larger
>    Team Buses will drop off their rowers & coaches on the regatta island.
>    Once on island follow directions of Parking Team to drop off point.
>    Buses might park on regatta island, but will probably park in a remote lot.

ROWER  DROP  OFF  (IF NOT ON BUS):
>    Any vehicle smaller than a School bus and carrying rowers must use
      the  NORTH entrance.  (See bottom of page.)
>    This includes
all parents dropping off kids, coaches in personal vehicles, etc.
>    Vehicles will drop rowers off at the Trolley Bus stop on Regatta Island and then
      exit the area.
>    This area must be kept fluid.  Please be prepared to drop off passengers and do
      not linger.

SPECTATORS  (NORTH  or  SOUTH  ENTRANCE):
>    Primary parking is on Regatta Island.
>    Secondary parking will be available if needed in the Sports Authority parking
    area.    A Trolley will be provided.
>    Overflow parking will be available if needed.    A Trolley will be provided.

HANDICAP  PARKING  (NORTH  or  SOUTH  ENTRANCE):
>    You may utilize the  NORTH  or  SOUTH  entrances.  See directions below.

>    You  must display a valid  Handicap Parking  sticker / permit / hangtag.

>    If you will need assistance after parking, please advise the Parking Team Greeter.

>    Spaces will be reserved on Regatta Island.
      Additional spaces will also be available.

TEAM  FOOD-TENT  HAULER   (NORTH ENTRANCE) :
The   Team Tent  Area   will be available starting at  12:30 pm  on Friday.
Sites are allotted first come,  first served.

Tents will be available for rent this year.  Contact Sarah Kupiec: 941-224-9395

All Friday drop offs should be done before 6 pm.
If you cannot arrive before 6 pm, please let us know in advance.

There will be overnight security in the park, however, do not leave valuables overnight.
Secure your own area  and  cover with a tarp.

If arriving on SAT AM, please plan to arrive by 7 am at the latest.

ICE  WILL NOT  BE  SOLD  THIS YEAR.

VENDOR  TRAILER   (NORTH  ENTRANCE) :
The   Vendor Village  will be available for set up from  12:30 pm  until  6:00 pm  on Fri.

>    Follow instructions of the Arrivals / Parking Team.
>    Friday arrivals:   All Friday drop offs must be done before 6 p.
         If you are coming on Friday and cannot arrive before 6p, please let us know in 
        advance.
>    Saturday arrivals:  you must be set up by 7 am.
         Your vehicle must be out of Vendor Village by 7 am.
>    There will be overnight security in the park, however, do not leave valuables.
      Secure your own area  and  cover with a tarp.

>    ICE  WILL NOT  BE  SOLD  THIS  YEAR.

CAR  TOP  CARRIERS    (NORTH  or  SOUTH  ENTRANCE):
The  Car Top Area  will be available from  12:00 pm  until  6:00 pm  on Friday

>    You will be directed by the  Arrivals / Parking Team  to the  Boat Trailer Area.

>    Please drop your boat to slings in the  Boat Trailer Area  and then remove your car
       to the designated parking area on the regatta island.

>    Parking in this area is  Free  for  Car Tops  but a  Parking Pass is required
         and will be provided by the Arrivals Team.

>    There will be overnight security in the park, however, do not leave valuables.
         Secure your own area  and  cover with a tarp.

>    Friday arrivals:   All Friday drop offs must be done before 6 p.
        If you are coming on Friday and cannot arrive before 6 p, please let us know in 
        advance.
>    Saturday arrivals:  you must be set up by  7 am.
       Your vehicle must be out of the  Boat Trailer Area  by  7 am.

>    Sunday arrivals:    you must be in the Boat Trailer Area by 8:00 am.

BOAT  TRAILERS    (SOUTH ENTRANCE):
The  Boat Trailer  area will be available from  12:00 pm  until  6:00 pm  on Friday

>    You will be directed by the  Arrivals / Parking Team  to the  Boat Trailer Area.

>    Please unhitch your boat trailer  and then remove your truck to the nearby
        designated parking area on the regatta island.

>    Parking in this area is  Free  for  you  but a  Parking Pass is required
         and will be provided by the Arrivals Team.

>    There will be overnight security in the park, however, do not leave valuables.
         Secure your own area  and  cover with a tarp

Please ensure that you get a  Parking Pass  for your windshield.

BOW  NUMBERS  --  RACING  8  LANES:
Please be sure to bring your own Bow Numbers.

We intend to race eight (8) lanes; please ensure you have enough numbers for your boats.

MASTERS  TEAMS  ARRIVING  ON  SAT  AFTER  7 AM:
Details are still being worked out, but we hope to be able to accept your trailers at any time, given the larger venue.

All other instructions remain the same.

Please ensure that you get a  Parking Pass  for your tow vehicle windshield.

NORTH  ENTRANCE:

From    I-75   take  University Pkway,  Exit 213.
Drive    WEST  on  University Pkway  approx.  0.3  mi.
Turn     SOUTH   (left)   onto   No. Cattlemen Rd   (traffic light).
Drive approx  0.5  mi,  following signs  and  pass thru  3  traffic circles.
Continue South  on  No. Cattlemen Rd  to Regatta Island.

Follow Parking Staff instructions.

SOUTH  ENTRANCE:

From   I-75   take   Fruitville Rd,  Exit 210.
Drive   WEST  on  Fruitville Rd.  approx. 0.2  mi.
Turn    NORTH   (right)   on  No. Cattlemen Rd  (traffic light).
Drive   approx   2.2  mi.
Rowing facility will be on your left.
Follow road to  Parking Staff.
