Row for Autism

  • Hosted By: Port Rowing
  • 2016 Registered Regatta

Together with The Town of North Hempstead, Friends of Port Rowing is pleased to host our

5th Annual Row for Autism Regatta April 16, 2016

The US Rowing-sponsored event is held at North Hempstead Beach Park.

Port Rowing offers the opportunity for those affected by autism to participate in the sport of rowing through our adaptive rowing program. The adaptive program partners rowers with special needs with able-bodied peers in both practice and in competitions.

Row for Autism was started in 2012 to raise money for our adaptive program and many autism advocacy organizations.

In 2015, our fourth annual Row for Autism drew 22 clubs from New York, New Jersey and Connecticut. The event featured high school racing, adaptive racing, an on land “learn to row” station and of course, all the amenities of North Hempstead Beach Park.

The Town of North Hempstead provided a live video stream of the finish line as the rowers crossed over.
