Brock University will be hosting this annual regatta for masters athletes co-operatively with the Georgian Bay Rowing Club. In the past there were few opportunities for masters to race in the early summer so Brock Rowing began the Tony Biernacki Sr. Memorial Regatta. The Tony B regatta has been growing annualy and been very well recieved by the masters rowing community.
At the 2013 ORA annual meeting it was proposed to create a masters series of races leading to the Ontario Masters Championships. This year (2014) the Trillium Masters Rowing Series will be the Tony B and Near North regattas with the hope of adding an eastern Ontario site in 2015.
We do offer an event for adaptive rowers and as demand increases we look forward to expanding the schedule of adaptive events.
The second aim of the series will be to diversify the number of regatta venues in the province to grow rowing in the province as a whole.
