TYRA 2K WOD RULES AND REGULATIONS

The format of the TYRA 2K WOD will be as follows -

600m row, 30 Air Squats, 500m row, 30 Sit Ups, 400m row, 30 Push Ups, 300m row, 30 Burpees, 200m row

Participants will be judged on successful completion of each rep on the specific exercise portions on this WOD. If the rep is not deemed to be executed correctly it will not count and will have to be reattempted until the participant has reached 30 reps in a particular set. In addition, exercise repetitions cannot be started until the specific distance has been rowed on the ergometer (to the attending judge’s satisfaction). For example, if the rower is tasked with rowing 600m and the readout on the ergometer says that only 595m have been rowed the rower will not be permitted to continue to air squats until the readout says that 600m has been rowed successfully. Additionally, TYRA2K participants must complete the WOD in the order listed above with no exceptions.

WEIGH-IN PROCEDURE

  • All lightweight and coxswain competitors MUST weigh-in on race day. Races will not be delayed waiting on weigh-ins.
  • The weigh-in area is located in the Stage Room down the hall from the Racing Floor. Signs will be visible for direction purposes.
  • All lightweight and coxswain competitors will have their names and events checked at weigh-in. Each rower having successfully completed his/her respective weigh-in will receive a lightweight wristband by an official. Any competitor missing this wristband, or failing to weigh-in at all, will be disqualified from their lightweight category. He/She will be allowed to race at their pre-assigned time, but his/her result will be placed into the heavyweight division for that category.

MISC RULES AND REGULATIONS

  • All participants will take part in the competition on Concept2 Model D Ergometers with PM5 Monitors for each event.

  • Participants are allowed to set the drag factor to any setting BEFORE the race. Once the race has started no further adjustments should be made. Doing so will result in immediate disqualification.

  • TYRA 2k volunteers will record scores manually as backup to the computer timing. All competitors must check-in with the TYRA 2k volunteer at their particular erg with an Participant Wristband for confirmation.

  • Rowers must use their own names when participating. Use of a pseudonym or other false identification will lead to disqualification and possible lifetime banishment from participation in future TYRA 2k events. In addition, athletes are not permitted to compete in place of friends or teammates. There are no entry substitutions.

  • All participants must wear a shirt and shorts on the racing floor, including the warm-up area. Uni-suits, bodysuits, and all-in-ones are permitted.

  • The use of headphones during the competition is discouraged due to safety reasons.

  • The format of the TYRA 2k indoor rowing competition is finals only. Competitors will be seeded based on their submitted erg scores. Keep in mind that if an event is large enough for multiple heets, the best overall time wil win each event.

  • Medals will be awarded to the winner of each category raced as determined by classification of age, weight, and gender. Competitors are only eligible to win a prize for the event in which they are entered.

INTERPRETATION OF RULES

The meaning and application of these rules will be determined solely by the TYRA 2k Race Committee. All deliberations and decisions by the Race Committee will be secret, arbitrary, and final.
