Melbourne Head Regatta

  • Hosted By: Upper Yarra Rowing Club

Volunteers Needed

This year we have a record entry of 690 crews - which is a fantastic result

Given the increase in the size of the regatta, we are looking to implement a number of initiatives for this Saturday’s regatta to ensure it runs smoothly and is enjoyable and safe for all participants and spectators:

  • Increase the number of on course marshals, including additional marshals at the upstream end of the course and in the start marshalling area to ensure that transit lane runs efficiently and that boats are placed in bow order as they approach the start line
  • Increase the number of staging marshals to manage and improve the flow of boats on the staging
  • Provide marshals to assist crews in getting boats in and out of the water

Whilst we have arranged a good number of volunteers and officials for the event, we feel that considering the above, more volunteers would be great. So, this is a request to any members of your club, either not rowing (or only rowing one or two events) to volunteer for the regatta or part of the regatta

We have set up a volunteer page to include for the various tasks in shifts. For anyone willing and available they can register on the Volunteer Page at https://www.volunteersignup.org/T7RXJ, by registering for the task and the shift or shifts that they are able to assist with

Looking forward to a great day

Best wishes
