The race runs through downtown Des Moines on the Des Moines River. The 5,000m course begins at the Greater Des Moines Botanical Garden and runs upstream to the finish line at Prospect Park. Prospect Park is the primary venue for spectators, competitors, and vendors. Additional viewing areas include the Greater Des Moines Botanical Garden, Riverview Park and Captain Roy’s.
DIRECTIONS TO PROSPECT PARK
Prospect Park is located on Prospect Rd, which is accessible from Hickman Rd. The best route is to navigate to I-235 and take Exit 7 to Keosauqua Way, North to 19th Street. From 19th St. take a left at Hickman Rd and another left at Prospect Rd. You will see parking signs and attendants to your right.
