Tom & Jerry Three Buoy Regatta-  This is a 5 mile, open water (with the potential for some rough water) regatta.  Named for the two South Enders who came up with this course in 2012 to test ones navigational and rowing skills.  The “3 buoys” mark shipping channels around Little Alcatraz, Alcatraz and Blossom Rock.

The course is counterclockwise. First buoy is the Blossom Rock bell buoy, then around the second buoy (no bell on the Bay Bridge side of Alcatraz), followed by the Little Alcatraz buoy, and finally back to Aquatic Park. Each leg of the course is approximately 1.2 miles. The course is nearly a square

The courses does cross active shipping lanes and this is an open water course in the San Francisco Bay.  There could be strong currents or wind.  We will adjust accordingly and will discuss any new details (should there be any) at the briefing prior to the regatta start.
