Directions to Burnaby Lake

 

Race Type: 2000 Sprint

 

Sanction provided by Rowing BC.

 

WCURC ENTRY CONSIDERATIONS:

  • Programs are expected to enter into the events which they believe will provide the most meaningful racing 
  • Programs may have unlimited entries per event
  • In the event a program enters multiple crews in an event, points will only be awarded to the top placing finisher for each program. No points are awarded for Novice events.

ENTRIES & DEADLINES:

Entry and payment deadline is Wednesday October 2 2019 by 11:59PM.We will not accept late entries. Please go to Regatta Central.com to enter

Coaches are expected to seed their crews in the case a making more than one entry in an event.

 

ENTRY FEES: 

$22.50 per seat per race

 

 

TRAILERS & CAR PARKING/ BOAT STORAGE

WCURC trailers also participating in Saturday’s Burnaby Lake Small Boat Regatta will be able to load into the BLRC parking lot Friday evening. If your program is not racing this event, you will need to wait until there is space at the end of racing Saturday to park your trailer.

Absolutely no parking in the Burnaby Lake parking lot other than trucks for trailers and officials. All other vehicles must park in the gravel lot. 
Coaches, please inform your crews to park in the gravel lot and walk into the regatta site.

 

TRAINING SCHEDULE

If there is time following the Saturday Burnaby Lake Small Boat Regatta, training will run until 5pm. Coach boats will be available and coaches must ensure there is a coach boat on the water with their crew for safety. There will be access to the BLRC boathouse and washrooms. A ‘training’ course flow pattern will be posted onsite.

 

WCURA COACHES MEETING

Saturday evening at 5:30pm in the pavilion at the rowing course. (Cancelled)

Coaches Officials Meeting 8:00AM Saturday in the pavilion at the rowing course.

 

WEIGH-INS

Scales will open for official weigh in on Sunday at 6:30am and will close at 8:00am.

Men – min 55 kg

LAUNCHING FOR RACING

All crews must have bow ball and heel ties properly secured prior to checking in. Check-in will be located on the concourse just before the top of the ramp. From this point on all crews must be prepared to launch and row. Oars must accompany all boats to the water. Shoes must be removed from the dock after launching. Only one coach per team will be permitted on the dock for launching and landing crews.

 

HOTSEATING

Crews wishing to hot seat must report to the dock master.

 

AWARDS

Medals will be presented to winning crews on the dock immediately following each final. Point’s trophies will be presented at the end of the regatta.

As WCURC is being hosted using an external site, Burnaby Lake, we have some significant fees to cover such as lake use fees, lake equipment fees and event room rental. The event is not a very large regatta so programs should anticipate fees that allow the host to recover these costs.
