All Competitors:

-Must complete the BSRA waiver before racing

-The waiver can be found under the Compliance tab, or can be filled out at check in

Juniors: 

Junior Rower: USRowing defines a youth as: “A Youth is a Competitor who in the current calendar year does not attain the age of 19, or who is and has been continuously enrolled in secondary school as a full- time student seeking a diploma. A Competitor thus ceases to be a Youth after December 31 of the year of his or her 18th birthday, or of the year in which he or she completes the 12th grade of secondary school, having been a full-time student, whichever is later.”

-Junior Novice: Events are limited rowers who have been competing for one year or less as of the first Regatta Day.

-U17 and U19 athletes will compete together, but their results will be recorded separately

       U19: A Competitor may compete in the U19 category until December 31 of the year of his or her 18th birthday.

       U17: A Competitor may compete in the U17 category until December 31 of the year of his or her 16th birthday.

Open: Handicaps apply

-Collegiate aged athletes, or Master rowers who wish to row a full 2k should enter the Open category

 

Masters: Handicaps apply

Per USRowing rules, Masters Events are limited to competitors who have attained or will attain the age of 21 during the current calendar year. A competitor’s age is determined as of December 31 of the current calendar year, rounded down to the highest contained integer. A competitor thus becomes a Master on January 1 of the year of his or her 21st birthday. 

-Masters 21-55 (1000m): Competators in this age range should register for this event

-Masters 55+ (1000m): Competators in this age range should register for this event

-Masters Novice (1000m): Events are limited rowers who have been competing for one year or less as of the first Regatta Day.

 

Lightweights:

-Male Youth/Junior Lightweight rowers will have a maximum weight of 150 lbs

-Male Open Lightweight rowers will have a maximum weight of 160 lbs

-Female Lightweight rowers in all age groups will have a maximum weight of 130 lbs

*We are not weighing in lightweight athletes*

 

Tandem Races: *New*

-This is a 500m team race

-2 individuals on 2 ergs will have their average 500m splits averaged throughout the duration of the piece to produce an average team boat speed

-The 500m end point is determined by the team AVERAGE speed, not any one individual speed

-Masters races will have handicaps in play (average handicap will be applied to team finish)

Example race and results:

Racer A) Average 500m split = 1:50

Racer B) Average 500m split = 2:10

Team AB boat finish = 2:00

Racer C) Average 500m split = 1:54

Racer D) Average 500m split = 2:02

Team CD boat finish = 1:58
