The 6th Annual Illinois Collegiate Rowing Invitational

In the Spring of 2012, the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign hosted Wheaton College and Northwestern University Men's Teams for a 2000m race on Clinton Lake. The race day went great and included a ton of great racing. Realizing that there was an opportunity to showcase exceptional collegiate racing among Illinois Colleges and Universities, the University of Illinois decided to create the first Illinois Collegiate Rowing Invitational. In addition to showcasing fine racing across a number of events, the race also awarded the first ever Illinois State Rowing Championship Trophy honoring the Illinois School finishing with the most points in the event.

In 2014, the race grew to include more crews, and the crews expanded to even greater depth. The 2015 hosting was the first time a 2nd Freshman/Novice race was held, and the size of the regatta has grown to over a dozen crews.
