COVID PROTOCOL:

All competitors and coaches will be expected to be double vaccinated and to meet all COVID protocols as directed by ViaSport, Rowing BC and Rowing Canada. More specific details on COVID will be in Bulletin #2.

WCURC ENTRY CONSIDERATIONS:

· Programs are expected to enter into the events which they believe will provide the most meaningful racing for their athletes

· Programs are allowed unlimited entries per event

· In the event a program enters multiple crews in an event, points will only be awarded to the top placing finisher for each program. No points are awarded for Novice events.

Open Men: 1x, 2- & 8+

Open Women: 1x, 2- & 8+

Lightweight Men: 1x, 2x & 4+

Lightweight Women: 1x, 2x & 4+

JV Men: 1x, 2- & 8+

JV Women: 1x, 2- & 8+

Novice Men: 8+

Novice Women: 8+

ENTRY FEES – TBD

As WCURC is being hosted using an external site, Burnaby Lake, we have some significant fees to cover such as lake use fees, lake equipment fees and event room rental. The event is not a very large regatta so programs should anticipate fees that allow the host to recover these costs.

TRAILER PARKING/ BOAT STORAGE

Trailers can be parked in the Burnaby Lake Pavilion lot anytime Friday, security will be provided Friday night and Saturday night for those racing on Sunday.

 

TRAINING SCHEDULE

A training schedule for Friday Oct.1 and before racing on Sat. will be circulated in bulletin #2.  Coach boats will be available and coaches must ensure there is a coach boat on the water with their crew for safety. There will be access to the BLRC boathouse and washrooms. A ‘training’ course flow pattern will be posted onsite.

Scales will open for official weigh in on Sat. at 6:30am and will close at 8:00am.

 LAUNCHING FOR RACING

All crews must have bow ball and heel ties properly secured prior to checking in. Check-in will be located on the concourse just before the top of the ramp. From this point on all crews must be prepared to launch and row. Oars must accompany all boats to the water. Shoes must be removed from the dock after launching. Only one coach per team will be permitted on the dock for launching and landing crews.

HOTSEATING

Crews wishing to hot seat must report to the dock master.

AWARDS

Medals will be presented to winning crews on the dock immediately following each final. Point’s trophies will be presented at the end of the regatta.

Burnaby Lake Rowing Club welcomes all WCURC small boat participants to race in Sunday’s 4km Time Trial and 250m Sprint. Please contact Burnaby Lake RC for any information regarding this event.
