A Master is a competitor who has attained or will attain the age of 21 during the current calendar year.  A competitor's age is determined as of December 31 of the current calendar year, rounded down to the nearest whole number.  A competitor thus becomes a Master on January 1 of the year of his or her 21st birthday. Master's crew shall be composed exclusively of Masters rowers but the coxswain is not required to be a Master.

The age category of a Master's crew shall be determined by the average age of the rowers in the crew, rounded down to the nearest whole number. The age of a coxswain shall not be counted.  Masters events will be handicapped according to USRowing standard handicapping.

A novice is a competitor whose initial competition within that same discipline has been in the previous12 months of the date of this regatta.

Each boat shall carry a bow number and each crew is responsible for their own bow cards.

Where the feet of the competitor are held by shoes affixed to the stretcher of the boat, the design of such shoes shall provide for the quick release of the competitor's feet in the case of capsize. Such design may consist of Velcro or pull strings at the heels. All boats will be checked for appropriate shoes.  If appropriate shoes are not present in all seats, that boat will be prohibited from competing.

Please limit the number of launch assistants to two members per boat. There will be two calls to launch prior to each event to ensure all boats launch on time.  Boats will launch from the dock and recover from the beach.

Hot Seating - There must be a minimum of 45 minutes between events for competitors and boats.  Hot seating requests must be submitted at the registration table when checking in.
