EMAIL UPDATE 3/9

Coaches,

Here’s the schedule!  Please check your entries and let me know if there is anything you need to scratch.  I’ll make adjustments and get a final version for you on Friday.

Our goal is to not make any changes on race day!

2023 OARS Invitational

If you have missing waivers or payment, please get them completed today!  The deadline was yesterday & I really don't want to tell kids they can't race.

Thanks,

Kirsten

EMAIL UPDATE 3/8

Coaches,

The C&C Meeting with our Chief Referee, Ed Murphy,  is now available. You may have to download the file to watch.  Please have all your coaches, coxswains, and sculling boats watch.

2023 OARS Invitational C&C Meeting

I’m finalizing the schedule with all the scratches that have come in.  I’ll send it out on Thursday.

The weather seems to be in our favor this year. We are committed to having a safe regatta for all of you. Please do your part, when you are loading your trailers, check your equipment - bow balls & heel ties! Remember to bring your own bow numbers.

If you have any parents or coaches hanging around for races on Sunday, we do have some chase boat positions open: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10c0c4eadaf2ba2fd0-20231#/

Thanks,

Kirsten

EMAIL UPDATE 3/7

Coaches,

We are looking forward to having you attend the 25th Annual OARS Invitational. Our coaches, parents, and volunteers are hard at work making final arrangements for all of you. This will be a full weekend of racing and we need all of you to review any information that is sent your way.  Please be sure to share it with other coaches, parents, and rowers as needed.

A few reminders:

  • Prepay now for parking. They will not accept cash at the gate.  Click here: OARS Invitational Parking Registration
  • Check your compliance and get your waivers completed. The deadline has now passed. We don’t really want to scratch boats and have upset rowers on race day.
  • Check your boats & make sure bow balls & heel ties are secure
  • Teams that are arriving on Saturday need to plan on arriving between 12:00 - 5:00 pm.
  • If you need to arrive after 5:00 pm, please text Coach Nick Hall at 407-963-5727 in advance and he will arrange to meet you on Friday.
  • Saturday morning trailer arrival should be after 5:30 am and before 6:30 am.
  • For your parents that are asking about cooking, there is no open flame cooking at the park. They may use sterno to warm food.
  • C&C Meeting will be virtual. We will send out a link later in the week. Please ensure that your coxswains & rowers know how to back into a stake boat, get their point by sculling it around, and safely steer down a course!
  • We should have a first draft of the schedule by Thursday.
  • Wednesday, March 8th
    • Scratch deadline
    • Line Up deadline
    • Payment deadline

Let me know if I can help you with anything!

Thanks,

Kirsten
