COACHES MEETING NOTES: A brief summary of the 10. Nov Coaches meeting - was sent to the General Info WhatsApp group.

a) COACHES MEETING: Reminder re; a Coaches briefing 16:00hrs in the NTC ground floor.

b) FODD TRUCK: The Scorpion Chef - Food truck will be open with food today and Friday 11-14hrs. Empanadas Menu features 4 great flavours!

TIME TRIAL INSTRUCTIONS: Instructions for Crews and Coaches is available here.

COURSE INFRASTRUCTURE WORK: Please be aware course infrastructure work is now underway. Today (Nov 7) Boat-Holder dinghies have been installed just behind the Start line. Coaches, please inform your crews.

PRE-TRAINING: Training is possible on Quamichan if you arrive early - under strict conditions. Training windows Mon 7. Nov - Wed 9. Nov are; 9am-11am and 2pm-4pm.  **All visitors must sign out a Coach-boat and provide a coach to go out on the water with your crews. Note: Safety is your own responsibility during this period. The OC will not be monitoring the water until Thursday 8th Nov at 12noon.  Email Jon Rose ([email protected]) to arrange a boat. 

AWARDS DINNER: 

You’re invited to the 2022 National Rowing Championships Athlete Awards Dinner! Join us at Shawnigan Lake School on Saturday November 12th at 6:00pm to celebrate our athletes. Coaches, coxswains, team personnel and community members can purchase tickets HERE. Athletes entering the NRCs automatically receive a ticket upon registration. The deadline to purchase tickets is Tuesday November 8. No physical tickets will be printed. Upon arrival at the Athlete Awards Dinner, all attendees will check in at a registration table to confirm tickets and seating chart assignments.

WhatsApp: as per previous years, the Organizing Committee (OC) will initiate a 'WhatsApp Chat Group' to inform PRAs, club managers, coaches and staff of important information during the event.

TRAILERS: Trailer drivers, please contact Jon Rose at RCA to notify us when you will be arriving in Duncan. We will meet you at the National Training Center to assist with parking. Review the Venue Map on the 'Venue' page and email Jon at: [email protected] 

International / CAN Composite crews: You will be able to race under special conditions (to be adised later next week). You will not be eligable for a Canadian National Rowing Championship medal. If this applies to you, and you are a Canadian athlete nominating for National selection, please contact Chuck McDiarmid at RCA as soon as possible at:   [email protected] 

MASKS ETC:  Following guidance from our Chief Medical Officer, being fully vaccinated is highly recommended. Wearing a Mask indoors is required (except when warming up).

BOAT POOL: To alleviate the cost of equipment transport, RCA can offer a small number of 1x’s and 2-‘s for a boat pool for the regatta. To discuss equipment needs, please contact Jon Rose for Senior athletes and Chuck McDIarmid for NextGen athletes.

FERRY TRAVEL: Teams are advised to book trailer and vehicle travel on BC Ferries. Reservations are filling fast.

Also: BC Ferries and viaSport provide travel vouchers for athletes and coaches of not-for-profit sports organizations attending National Championship events, such as the RCA NRCs. $$ Grant information can be found at: LINK

DRAFT SCHEDULE: A draft schedule of the Regatta is available on the Heats/Draw page. This will be updated in Bulletin 2 - out at the end of October.
