Conditions: Thecourse is on a wonderful stretch of water starting just before theSousa Bridge (Pennsylvania Avenue) and finishing between the doubleI-295 bridges. Typical conditions for this course are ideal for sprintracing, with minimal cross-winds, generally flat water, and slowsurface currents.
Start and Finish:Thestart will be just before the Sousa Bridge and races will be rundownriver towards the boathouse. The finish will be between thedouble-295 bridges and just in front of the Anacostia Community Boathouse.
Launching and Warm-up: Launching takes place at the Anacostia Community Boathouse.Thedock space at this boathouse is limited, so we will be running 9-10minutecenters on each race to help alleviate crowding at and on the docks. All boats will use the down-river dock and will warm up along thecourse up to the start and in the basin just up-river from the startand the Sousa Bridge. Maps will be available diagramming proper navigation of the river and bridge arches.

Safety: Safety is always the number one concern at our event.Wehave been fortunate to have very few mishaps at Stonewall Regatta, andthat is because of your commitment to safety. This year we ask thatparticipants come prepared to have a good time, but also to observeUSRowing rules and general etiquette at all times. The facilities aretight, so please keep this in mind when moving about the site, especially in front of the boathouse and at the docks.
