Events

• The Head of the Dog is a 4500 meter costume race
  • Events for masters, juniors, open rowers of all levels. 
    • 1x, 2x, 2- 4x, 4x+ for M, W, and Mixed boats.
    • Charity Mixed 8+ relay--see "News" page for description
  • Awards
    • "Best of Breed" trophy is annually presented to the individual or crew with the best costume.
    • Perpetual Silver Trophies will be awarded to the fastest men's and women's 1x. 
    • The Bill Kalenius Memorial Trophy will go to the fastest 2x.  
• Rowers who enter a single will be able to race twice.  
  • There will be a first flight of singles, and then a long flight of doubles and quads.  
  • It may be possible to use 2x and 4x equipment more than once--we'll try to make that work in the final schedule.(please contact us if you need to hot swap boats)
  • We will have slings available above our dock to hold boats temporarily
• NOTE: The Mixed 4x boats are being run in the first heat as well to allow for boat sharing.
  • There may be some availibility to borrow boats, please contact us with questions.

Timing

• Saturday 6pm  Online pre-race meeting
• Sunday
  • 8:25: Heat 1 - Mixed 4x's and 1x 
  • 10:00--11:30: Heat 2 - 2x, 2-, 4x, 4x+
  • 12:15--Mixed 8+ relay
  • 1:30 ish: Awards ceremony & potluck at the clubhouse parking lot

Award Ceremony

• After racing concludes, there will be an awards ceremony and potluck by our clubhouse by the railroad museum
• Our goal is to have enough time for those at other docks to meet for the award ceremony.
