                           The 17th Annual Secret City Head Race - October 21, 2017 - Oak Ridge, TN

The Secret City Head Race, a full day event on October 21, 2017, is perfectly positioned in the Fall racing season, with cool, brisk mornings and beautiful, warm afternoons. Oak Ridge's Melton Lake Venue provides miles of sheltered water, and a 5,000m race course that winds gently for more than 3,000m before passing through a railroad bridge and turning straight for home. Now in its 17th year, this one-day event provides racing opportunities for everyone, Juniors through Masters, in all boat classes.

The site includes parking for more than 50 team trailers, 1,000m of shaded spectator area along the race course, picnic facilities, permanent modern restrooms, a children's playground, and access to the Melton Lake Greenway and Haw Ridge Park, with 778 forested acres and more than 28 miles of single track and mixed-use trails. Spectator access and parking at the Melton Lake Venue are free.  Join us, for a spectacular Fall day of racing.

The City of Oak Ridge is celebrating their 75th anniversary! The Secret City Head Race will celebrate this milestone with the City of Oak Ridge!
