Course and Event Description:  Visit Brunswick, Maine and row the beautiful Androscoggin River alongside Cow Island.  This 5K course is a “buoy and back” race, featured with a gentle turnaround, fun awards, and Maine hospitality.  Open to Junior (U19), Open and Master's 4+'s; and Junior (U19), Open and Masters 1X and 2X racing shells (recreational shells are a separate entry and can include novice rowers), including a hotly contested mixed 2X race.  Junior (U19) Novice 4+'s will be judged separate from regular U19 4+'s.  All racers in novice categories MUST be in 1st year of rowing.  This year, an exhibition junior 8+ will be added as well.

Your Stay:  Make it a Maine weekend!!  There are a number of hotels and campgrounds in the greater Freeport, Brunswick, and Bath area.  We urge you to make reservations as soon as possible as hotels book quickly for the fall season.  Want to make it a Maine family camping weekend? Wolfe's Neck Center in Freeport is graciously offering a 25% discount on inland sites for the Friday (9/20) before the race.  All people need to do is say that they are with the  Cow Island Regatta when they call to book their site.  Here is link to the campground's website:

T-shirts and Awards:  Please include your t-shirt size on the regatta entry form if you desire to purchase one ($10).  Ordering by 8/29 will guarantee your size.  T-shirts purchased at the regatta will be $12. Please click on the T-shirt tab to view this year's t-shirt option.

New this year:  are our featured COW BELL awards!  Medal awards will be distributed to 2nd and 3rd place finishers in each age and race category (US Rowing Master’s age category and handicapping will be followed for Master’s events), and cow bells to 1st place finishers.  In addition, one of our regatta sponsors, WOLFE"S NECK CENTER, will be awarding farm-picked veggies and fresh eggs to the best unadjusted (non-handicapped) time in the following combined race categories:  Men’s Junior, Open, Master’s 1X; Men’s Junior, Open, Master’s 2X; Women’s Junior, Open, Master’s 1X; Women’s Junior, Open, Master’s 2X; Men’s and Women’s Rec 1X; Men’s and Women’s Rec 2X;  Junior, Open, Master’s Mixed 2X; Men’s Junior, Open and Masters 4+; Women’s Junior, Open, Masters 4+.

Food:  Snack Foods and Drinks will be available to all participants for a requested donation.

Waiver:  Please sign and return the regatta waiver prior to the regatta payment deadline.  No rower will be allowed to participate if a waiver is not signed.  US Rowing membership is NOT required to compete in this regatta.  PLEASE SEE THE WAIVER LINK ON THE SIDEBAR TO ACCESS THE REGATTA SPECIFIC WAIVER!

Trailers:  The regatta is held near a community park, and rowers are launched from a community-owned dock.  Trailer parking is available regatta-side.  However, it is strongly recommended that rowers carpool.  If singles and doubles can be included on the team trailer, and rowers carpool, that would be ideal to reduce the number of individual vehicles in the parking lot.  Please indicate on your registration form how you will be transporting your boat and if you will be parking your vehicle in the lot.
