2018 HIGH POINT AUTUMN ROWING FESTIVAL

Note, no refunds will be provided for weather related cancellations or for boats scratched after the regular registration deadline.

Regatta organizers will make every effort to reschedule the regatta if cancelled in advance due to impending inclement weather. This was in fact done in 2015 when a hurricane cancelled the event and organizers held it three weeks later.

EVENT CATEGORIES:

Mixed events:  At least half of the competitors in the boat (excluding coxswain) must be female. For middle school races, a "best effort" attempt to meet this criterior will be acceptable.

Masters events:  Participation is allowed to a competitor who has attained or will attain the age of 21 during the current calendar year.  Please note  that handicaps will be applied to results.  The High Point Autumn Rowing Festival will use the Garrett/Zezza handicap algorithm. This algorithm is weighted heavily in favor of older rowers. Our race organizers believe there is a great interest in keeping older rowers involved in racing and so has adopted this algorithm for this reason.

Maiden events: Participation is restricted to compeitors who have never participated in a boat race prior to this regatta.

Youth:  Participation is allowed to a competitor who, in the current calendar year, does not attain the age of 19 years as of December 31 of the current calendar year, or who is enrolled in secondary school as a full-time student seeking a diploma
