Please note that this registration site is ONLY for athletes who are members of Canadian or American clubs. Members of clubs in other countries must register through their own National Federations. Rowing Canada Aviron (RCA) and USRowing, as the respective National Federations, are using this site to collect the crew names to register with FISA.
WELCOME CANADIAN AND AMERICAN COASTAL ROWERS
It is with great pleasure and enthusiasm that we invite the rowing world to Victoria, home of the 2018 World Rowing Coastal Championships (WRCC 2018).
We are thrilled to be the first location in North America to host this international event. Our vision is to host a championships that provides an excellent experience for athletes, as well as spectators and volunteers. Our goal is to make this regatta a catalyst for the development of coastal rowing on the West Coast of Canada. We are committed to supporting the local community and running a regatta that respects the natural environment.
Join us for an exceptional championships in a spectacular setting. Race with a breathtakingly beautiful backdrop in a pristine environment. Surrounded by snow-capped mountains, abundant wildlife such as porpoise and orca whales, tall trees and rocky islands, Victoria is an adventure playground by the ocean. Come row in a gorgeous setting and be welcomed by warm Canadian hospitality.
To compete at the 2018 World Rowing Coastal Championships, a competitor must be a member of a club recognized by their National Federation. Because this registration site is only for Canadians and Americans, competitors must be a member of a club recognized by either Rowing Canada Aviron (RCA) or USRowing. Crews may include members of different nationalities, but they must be members of a club under the same National Federation. All entries made here must ultimately be approved and submitted to FISA by RCA or USRowing as appropriate.
All athletes must complete the Rowers Commitment Form. If an athlete has not completed the form in 2017 please complete and have it available to submit it in person to the FISA representative at the Regatta Registration desk in Victoria.
Crews must confirm their entries in person at the regatta venue by 11am October 11, 2018. Any crew who has not confirmed their entry in person by that time will be assumed to be not competing and will be removed from the Draw.
Note: If there are more than 60 boats in any single event, qualifiers may be needed. At this time, it is not anticipated that qualifiers will be required. If they are, the qualifiers will run on Thursday, October 11, 2018 and further details will be provided.
There are no entry fees for this regatta.
The following boat classes are recognized for the event:
- Solo (C1x)
- Double Sculls (C2x)
- Coxed Quadruple Sculls (C4x+)
All crews are invited to participate with their own boats and oars as long as the boats meet the FISA standard for Coastal Rowing boats. Crews who do not have a boat may rent one of the pool boats from the Organizing Committee. For more details on renting a pool boat see the Boat Rental section on the event website.
The World Rowing Coastal Championships are held in the following events:
- Men (M) C1x, C2x, C4x+
- Women (W) C1x, C2x, C4x+
All events are category "Open". There are no age handicaps.
Note: Events on this registration site are separated by country to enable the respective National Federations (either RCA or USRowing) to identify their crews to enter into the FISA registration system. Please ensure that you register in the "event" associated with your National Federation (e.g. MC1x (Canada) for Canadians, MC1x (USA) for Americans) . The National Federations may require additional details (e.g. passport number) for the FISA registration.
The FISA regulations as they apply to Coastal Rowing regattas (including Coastal Rowing boats) are detailed in the FISA Rules of Racing Appendix 22 Coastal Rowing Competition Regulations - Event Regulations and/or Departures from the FISA Rules of Racing.
