Rowing BC Junior Championships

  • May 18, 2019
  • sprint
  • Duncan, BC (CAN)
  • Hosted By: Rowing British Columbia
  • Sanctioned by RCA and Rowing BC (2019)

OVERVIEW

The BC Junior Championships Regatta is a new addition to the regatta calendar for 2019 and beyond.

This regatta was created to address a variety of issues brought up by the BC rowing community:

  • Lack of 2km racing on a buoyed course for Juniors in the lead up to CSSRA's.
  • RCA early selection requirements for Juniors athletes in 2018 and beyond.
  • No provincial pinnacle event for Junior athletes outside of the Independent School system.
  • The BC rowing community would like to see greater involvement of Rowing BC in hosting events.

The 2019 event will take place on Quamichan Lake on a buoyed 2km course on May 18th hosted by Rowing BC with the support of the Maple Bay Rowing Club and surrounding community.

Athletes and coaches are invited to stay an additional day if interested to also practice matrix racing in a camp format lead by Rowing BC's Provincial Coach, Rob Richards. For additional information, contact [email protected].

We'll be live-streaming the A and B Finals through Rowing BC's Facebook page HERE.
