Welcome to beautiful Cape Cod!
Yarmouth, Massachusetts is a charming seaside town located on Cape Cod, about halfway along the southern coast of the Cape. It's known for its classic New England coastal vibe, family-friendly beaches, and rich colonial history. The town is made up of three main villages—South Yarmouth, West Yarmouth, and Yarmouth Port—each with its own character.
Visitors often come for the scenic beaches along Nantucket Sound, such as Seagull Beach and Bass River (Smugglers) Beach, as well as its bike trails, golf courses, and historic sea captain's homes. Yarmouth also offers a mix of local shops, seafood restaurants, and attractions like the Whydah Pirate Museum and the Cape Cod Inflatable Park. It’s a great home base for exploring the rest of the Cape, with a laid-back atmosphere and plenty of charm.
Row New Bedford Foundation, in cooperation with the Town of Yarmouth, is exicted to announce the Coastal Beach Sprints event taking place in early September.
The regatta offers a unique and timely opportunity for athletes from across the country to compete in the beach sprint format. This is an ideal entry point for U19 athletes to get involved with the sport at the ground level before it becomes increasingly competitive on the national and international stage.
Our regatta is ideally timed to serve as a final training opportunity for athletes targeting the 2025 World Rowing Beach Sprint Championships for November 6-9 in Antalya, Turkey.
This allows competitors to simulate race conditions, sharpen their skill, and assess their readiness in a high-quality competitive environment.
On Saturday, September 6, our Beach Sprints Regatta will be a USRowing sanctioned beach sprint event modeled after the World Rowing Beach Sprints Finals. The race will follow the international format, featuring a beach start, slalom buoy course, and foot sprint to the finish - showcasing the speed, agility, and distinctive challenges of coastal rowing.
We invite you to join us for a weekend of high-energy racing, community celebration, and the chance to be part of shaping the future of coastal rowing in the U.S.
We need volunteers! If you are interested in volunteering, contact Lisa Brem: [email protected] or (978) 761-5588. See our Volunteer Page for more information.
Please take a moment to familiarize yourself with the Venue and the Rules.
