2024 Rock the Occ! Half Marathon Waiver

Complete waiver before 0800 on Saturday morning, 7 Sep.

Congratulations!! You are registered for the 2023 Rock the Occ Half-Marathon Invitational.  It’s going to be a great day and a great row on the Occoquan.  Here are just a few things that you need to know to make sure only the row is a challenge and not the logistics.

LOCATION:

Oxford Boathouse at Lake Ridge Park and Marina

12380 Cotton Mill Dr

Woodbridge, VA

TIMELINE:

7:30 am – Registration Opens.  There will be a tent on the water side of the lower parking lot

8:00 am – Coaches and Coxswains Meeting; Single rowers should also attend this meeting

9:00 am – First racers are underway

COACHES AND COXSWAINS MEETING:

Although we will still conduct an in-person coaches and coxswains meeting at 8:00 am the day of the race, there will be a Zoom coaches and coxswains meeting on Wednesday, 4 September at 7:30 pm.

PACKET PICK-UP:

Packet pick-up will be at the registration table.  If you are launching from Sandy Run, please send a representative to pick-up your race packet.

RACECOURSE:

Starts between the Oxford Boathouse cove and Sandy Run, Turns at Bull Run split; finishes at Oxford Boathouse cove.  See map for the course.

PARKING/RIGGING:

• Trailers must park in designated areas and be registered
• Boats must be off-loaded and placed in slings in designated areas where they can be rigged/derigged
• All cars must park in the upper parking lot and participants walk down the rower path to the lower lot/boathouse
• Single rowers may park temporarily in the lower lot to off-load their boats and place in slings.  Boats must be placed in slings in the designated rigging areas. 
  • Once boats are off-loaded and placed in slings, single rowers must park their cars in the upper lot and walk back down to the lower lot

WATER:

A water fountain at the park rental building is available to refill water bottles. There is no water for sale at the park.

FACILITIES:

Port-a-Potties are available near the boathouse in the wood line

T-SHIRTS:

T-shirt sales were pre-order only.  If you ordered a t-shirt, you may pick it up at the registration table.

RESULTS AND AWARDS:

AFTER THE RACE:

Join us at Water’s End Brewery for some cold beverages and fun.
