The Oklahoma Regatta Festival and Oklahoma City University Head of the Oklahoma return to the Boathouse District on the Oklahoma River, September 29-October 2, with all the excitement you’ve come to expect from Oklahoma’s premier regatta. The weekend begins with the blu VIP Party, this year celebrating the countdown to the 2012 Summer Olympic Games in London.
The community festivities kick off at 6pm Friday with the opening of the Oklahoma Regatta Festival featuring fine food, entertainment, a children’s plaza, wine and beer garden, with both Corporate Rowing and Dragon Boat OGE NightSprints racing on the river. At the conclusion of racing each evening, athletes and spectators will enjoy the WIMGO fireworks show.
Collegiate, masters and juniors rowing racing and men’s and women’s kayak racing will be held Saturday and Sunday featuring 2.5 mile head races and 500m OGE NightSprints. Kayak and dragon boat teams will also race under the lights in 500m and 200m events. And new for this year, we will host USA Dragon Boat Nationals on Saturday morning.
