                                                                      Strong Island Sprints

Years Ago, St Anthony's High School Crew was looking for an off-season competition . As there were few other indoor races at the time, the team decided to create their own event and Strong Island Sprints (S.I.S.) was commenced.

Previously hosted in the St Anthony's High School gymnasium, this indoor erg competition has seen more than 5,000 competitors over the years.  The 2011 Strong Island Sprints ushered in a new era, as they moved to a new home in the brand new 140,000 square foot state of the art Student Center at St Anthony's High School.

Strong Island Sprints has grown to become the largest erg competition in the tri-state area, and has seen competitors come from all over the east coast.  In addition, it has hosted its share of world class talent including Rich Mangione, the 2007 second fastest lightweight junior in the world and many other rowers from all programs who have moved on to elite collegiate programs such as Yale, Harvard, Princeton, Stanford.

There are 33 categories of racing for all ages and weights, including a parent cateory!

We want to thank all programs, schools, and individuals who have continued to make this erg competition a great success over the years.

Good luck to all this year.
